about krishni

NAMASTE.
I welcome you all with love!

I was given the spiritual name Krishni (the one who attracts irresistibly) by my Guru Swami Muktananda.   This happened in 1975 as I sat before him in Dallas, Texas. He said he was naming me after himself as his name was Krishna as a young boy.

From the very begining my life has been a dramatic one!!!  The moment I met Baba everything changed for the better. With that first connection, my love for him has never wavered. I credit my good fortune and positive attitude to him.

There’s an old saying I’ve always liked: “If you threw your ‘lot’, your ‘life’ onto the table with everyone else’s, Would you take back your own?”

I most definitely would!
Baba, as he was enduringly called, was my guide, my teacher, and my Guru. I met him in the prime of my life when I was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines and left everything behind to follow him – to begin my spiritual quest, my spiritual journey. I was with Baba in Texas, California, and New York before we left for a tour of Europe – England, France, Germany and Switzerland, with our final destination – Ganeshpuri, India. When I arrived there, I never wanted to leave.

At Gurudev Siddha Peeth I spent seven years at his Ashram and felt like I’d finally come home. I learned to LOVE myself and am now ready to give back to others. While I was there my mother, father and sister came to visit me and my sister took many photos documenting my activities, and some of them are included. During those incredible years I spent with Baba, He would say it’s not how much money we have, what religion we are or the color of our skin – but the key is to love and honor oneself and in so doing, honoring everyone else.

In textbook terms or even in others’ eyes, I may not be the perfect disciple, but I love him with all my heart and I knew he could feel it too.

A quote by Swami Muktananda:

“I don’t want a person who can give me something.
I want a person who can imbibe what I want to Give them – through their heart!

As I continue to strive in my Sadhana, I reflect back to a letter Gurumayi (Malti) wrote me in her own hand, during Guru Purnima on July 17, 1981.

She wrote: “Your Dedication and your Love will be an example for everybody one day.”

These words have given me hope over the years when I have felt depressed or lost. I’ve come to realize this body is only the vehicle, that my actions and thoughts can be good or bad – uplifted or down trodden. I am the one who has to make that choice!

It is currently 2022, forty-seven years after my first meeting Baba. It’s wonderful to see all types and ages of people pursuing Yoga  and Spirituality.  This helps develop a belief that there’s something greater than oneself; a recognition that is cosmic and divine in nature.

As I sat down to write my Book & Website, I feel it’s important to mention they’re not all about me – Krishni, per se.  They are about my Guru and my high esteem and honor of Him.  I’m not asking for praise or for others to live my life; I’m just sharing my experiences with you, hoping that when you read this, you’ll be inspired to find your own inner selves, much SOONER than me…

Baba always said: “To those worthy  of this, it could happen in a lifetime,   in a day, or even in a moment.”

As we purify our hearts, letting go of anger, jealousy, and the judging of others, we can actually feel the joy bubbling up from within. This is key in learning to ‘Forgive’ and to ‘Turn the Page’ as Baba would want us to!
