MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY
“MY PRASADS FROM BABA”
A Prasad is a gift or a blessing bestowed upon one by the Guru. My book, “My Prasads from Baba”, is seen through my eyes, interpreted by my soul and played out on the stage of my life this time around. It depicts an incredible spiritual adventure that spans many lifetimes. Included in my book are many outstanding photos, and most are in color.
This autobiography describes how I was inspired to leave my exciting career as a Stewardess/Flight Attendant to follow Swami Muktananda to Texas, California, and South Fallsburg, New York. I only wanted to be in Baba’s presence; never wanting to leave his side.
While with him in New York, I learned the power of the Guru Gita. Every morning we would chant this renowned text. It is known as the song of the Guru – an ancient, sacred narrative that details the nature of the Guru and the Guru-disciple relationship. By my faith in Baba’s words that it was the wish-fulfilling tree, I was granted the gift of travelling with him and his small entourage to Europe (England, France, Germany and Switzerland). Our last stop on this tour was to his sacred Ashram at Ganeshpuri in India.
This book presents short stories describing the years I was blessed to spend in Baba’s company; sharing with the reader my experiences of never heard stories that took place in his association. His influence on my life was profound.
I can honestly say this because before getting into Yoga, I’d always been searching for something – whether it be possessions, relationships, or recognition – it was always something way out there — just beyond my reach.
Even now during these trying, unforeseeable times, it’s easy to become fearful, letting the mind lock into the many problems around us. This is only natural. It’s important to encourage and uplift your own self. Along the path you may still meet people who will judge you, misunderstand you or gossip about you. I’m still learning their opinions aren’t my problems. As we stay committed to love and kindness, it won’t matter. The beauty of your truth will shine forth. As you feel It on the inside it’s shows on the outside. It lights up your whole being.
This following affirmation has been a great help to me over the years. Remember what you feel you attract, what you think you become, and what you imagine you create. As we try and manifest a feeling of love for oneself and others, soon you begin to realise that each and every one of us possess all the tools needed to expand our own awareness. To be positive instead of negative. Whatever you can conceive and believe in then you can achieve it. I have done this myself.
So, If it can happen to me, it can happen to You too!!!
Now with practice and diligence I can see change happening. It’s taken a lot longer than I thought, but it’s something I truly strive for. It’s a funny thing because while I’m sharing my life with you thru my book, and those many years spent in Siddha Yoga, I’m feeling so much Bliss and Love as I’m re-experiencing everything all over again. I hope you can feel it too!
As I’m getting older and the years are speeding by, I become more thankful each day for this life I’ve been given… Through my Guru’s Grace, I’m finally tasting the inner “Nectar of Love.”
Baba once wrote about his Guru:
“He is the nectar of love which arises when everything, sentient and insentient, becomes one. He is the beauty of the world. He pervades all forms, conscious and inert. He is the luminous sun, the moon, and the stars in the heavens. He frolics and sways with love in the blowing of the wind.
His consciousness glimmers in men and women.”
So Ask Yourself — Can you Drink Your Own Nectar of Love?
